6 years on and Altitude has proven it can move with the times and please the changing trends by continuing to hand pick Melbourne’s best DJ talent for your listening pleasure. In our trance days Altitude was all about the music – today we’re still all about the music. You’ll notice we still play many of the same DJ’s from our earlier days; that’s for a number of reasons. Firstly, because a good DJ can deliver quality music of any genre, and that’s what we’ve got; secondly they love the vibe at the Tude and don’t want to leave; thirdly, if you’ve experienced a Saturday night at Altitude – Skydive or Dirty Disco – you’ll know these guys have a great attitude and an energetic vibe and they know how to rock you till the wee hours of the morning.
Check out the profiles and photos for more goss on your favourite Altitude DJ.
Every DJ who has played at Altitude have told us our club offers the best attitude free party they’ve seen on their whole tour or in their regular gigs! Now that’s something worth checking out!
Jeremy has been a resident at altitude since its inception in 2001. His upfront electro and funky house tunes are always favourites with the punters. He also isn't shy of throwing a classic (or two!) in there for good measure. Jeremy also holds residencies at Robarta, Area 61, Melt at Tunnel, and the house room at Bubble. His career highlights include Summa Dayze, Welcome, War of the worlds, Two tribes, God's Kitchen etc. Jeremy also produces his own electro house music with some very exciting releases due soon..You can catch Jeremy every Saturday at altitude playing 4am-8am
James' first fell in love with dance music at 16 after going to the infamous Redheads in Albert Park and seeing Sean Quinn and Kasey Taylor who we're to change his taste in music from there on in. James embraced the Melbourne dance scene and all that goes with it and was an avid fan of internationals like Sasha, Digweed, Dave Seamen, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Underworld, Lucien Foort and local big guns Sean Quinn and Kasey Taylor, Jason D'Costa, Peter Macnamara, and many more.
In January 2002 James started work at Altitude in Melbourne doing maintenance and bar work. At the same time he started buying records and teaching himself how to mix on the club sound system eventually earning himself a residency on Saturday nights playing alongside Jeremy K, Miss Mel, Zac Curran and Richie Greaves and running a monthly progressive Friday night with Adam and Jayson Holden.
James has since gone on to share the bill with quality overseas acts such as Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West), PQM, Habersham, Steve Porter and a host of local heroes like Chris Meehan, Kasey Taylor, Sean Quinn, Mark James, Ivan Gough, Luke Chable and Phil K.
James is still currently a resident at Altitude's flagship Saturday night-Dirty Disco and has played guest spots around Melbourne including Robarta, Two Floors Up (PF), Hyde, The Saint, Sugar Suite, Platform, Publicity, Bunker, and Debasement.
In 2005 James made the pilgrimage to Ibiza and managed to score a gig at beachfront venue The Orange Corner. Originally having a progressive sound James became more and more influenced by the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Steve Lawler and Tom Stephan and Roger Sanchez and his sets now range through all styles of house music from vocal house through to tougher tribal infused banging house and is working on his own productions with DJ Stroud and Matt Fawcett.
Richie Greaves (The Duke)
Richie Greaves (or 'Minimal Rishard' as he is affectionately known here) loves his music. Originally from the U.K, he has seen many musical trends come and go over the past fifteen years that he's been involved in dance music.
In late 2000 Richie picked up the headphones and decided to have a go himself. He has since developed his individual style into what could only be described as Funked-Up Electro-Tech House. Always eager to mix it up a bit.......There is certainly nothing 'minimal' about Richie!
Christine Bladeni, a.k.a. Miss Chris, is a cross genre DJ on the rise in Melbourne. With a passion for the groove and funk of house, the drive and minimalism behind techno, dirty bass lines and raw electro sounds, her style can be classed as truly unique. Whether playing booty shakin', jackin' house, funky tech-house or rockin' electro/electro-house, Miss Chris is sure to shake your groove thing.
Christine developed a taste and passion for electronic sounds from her adventures in the world of clubbing and working as an events photographer.
Her DJing came a little later, in the early part of 2000 when she finally put hand to vinyl. Self taught but influenced by friends who had been playing the Melbourne club circuit for several years, she picked up the challenge quickly and is now making ground in the tough Melbourne club scene.
A predominantly male industry was also a driving force for Christine to get herself out there. Her influences stem from locals like Jayse Knipe and Angela Maison to superstars such as Derrick Carter, Dave Angel, Mark Farina, Chris Lum, Mistress Barbara, Daft Punk, Green Velvet and Trevor Rockliffe to name but only a few.
Having held residencies at weekly tech/tech-house night Night Shift in 2002/03, Scubar in 2003 and Ménage in 2003, she has also become a favourite to the thriving Geelong electro house scene at The Preston Hotel (2004/2005). And as a Kiss FM DJ and one of the femme fatale residents at Melbourne's monthly Techy Electro House night Tickled Pink, Miss Chris has certainly got punters and DJs taking notice of her style and infectious energy.
This year Miss Chris held an additional residency at Loco Por La Musica @ Altitude and has played guest spots at The Other Side @ Playpen and Transport as well as supporting international artists Chris Lum (San Fran) and Chuck Love (Chicago).
She now holds rotational residencies at Dirty Disco @ Altitude, Chicks on Decks @ Robarta, Unknown @ Eleven-A and Get Involved @ Altitude as well as being a regular guest at Saturdays @ The Saint and Fame @ The Vatican.
Earlier this year Chris studied Electronic Music Production under the guidance of teacher Chris Lum, so is now also in the midst of delving into the world of Logic, Cubase and Reason.
The FUNK is a must when Miss Chris plays, and with her unique blending of style she is set to become a prominent Melbourne DJ

Like most punters of the scene, Danni B quickly developed a passion for electronic music and its power to move crowds captured in the moment.
Danni's musical influences stem from a variety of electronic sources, which range from the house sounds of Chris Lum to the electro beat of Tiefschwarz to the techno-minded Vitalic and Slam. Not one to forget the past, Danni also finds inspiration from the likes of Sasha, Digweed and James Holden in which her passion was first born.
Playing tunes in her bedroom from 2003, her hard work and vision saw her out in the clubs with monthly night Tickled Pink in July 2005.
Tickled Pink was conceived from Danni's recognition of a space in the house scene for a chick night and, rather than stereotyping the theme, introduced a spin by presenting a guest male DJ ('flavour of the month') for every event. Tickled Pink is all about creating a fresh and fun night with a hint of cheekiness, which Danni and the TP team are more than happy to provide.
Danni has successfully been promoting and DJing at her monthly night, as
well as holding a Saturday night residency at Eleven-a's 'Unknown' & Dirty Disco.
Previous guest spots include Volume @ Room680, Move, Neon Elektrik,
Hot Wax and onesixone, and more recently Danni has supported
international DJ's Chris Lum, Steve Porter, Hernan Cattaneo and Paolo Mojo.
Funked up and ready to go, this lady is fast moving through the Melbourne club scene!
Andrew Rose is known for his friendly dancefloor mix of electro, progressive house and breaks. Not afraid to bust out the old-school anthems now and again, having caught the house music bug as a result of the Sasha and Digweed Northern Exposure tours and the progressive / trance and breaks sound of the late 90's/early '00's.
Having self taught himself to DJ in 2002, Andrew began to play at house and club parties throughout 2003 & 2004 before starting Circulation, a monthly event 2006.
Playing a host of past gigs including Circulation, Neon Elektrik and Risque, Andrew currently holds a residency at Altitude where he can usually be found playing banging tunes to the recovery crowd Sunday mornings
In his hometown of Melbourne, Luke has played at every major underground party including Push, Circulation, preSSure, Interview & Neon Elektrik. He is currently holding down a weekly residency at Dirty Disco, playing his diverse and driving mix of progressive house. He has supported such international DJ's as Kriece & Luke Fair, with his skill behind the decks taking him all the way to the Paradise Lounge in Mykonos, Greece, where he held a summer residency in 2005.
Yet it has been his desire to create music which has led him away from the decks and onto bigger challenges. Setting the goal to have his first release only 18 months after his venture into production, Luke has already achieved above and beyond this, with his first track 'Deja Vu' on Tribal Vision Records being met with wide acclaim.
With a number of new tracks signed to Often Gruven & Spiral Trax trecordings, 2007 just keeps getting bigger for Luke!
After over 10 years involved in the dance industry in Melbourne, Luke’s ability to move a dance floor is second to none.
Luke began his career as a promoter, booker, publicist and then Dj, giving him a total understanding of music and people. Luke has been musical director, booker and resident of many of Melbourne’s best venues and events for years now including Lounge, Screw and Earthcore’s VIP, focusing on the right sound for the right time in the right venue has always been his forte whether he is behind the decks or behind the desk.
Dj Luke McD has played house, electro, techno, breaks, funk and disco supporting the likes of Thomas Schumacher, Laurent Guarnier, Kosheen, Black Strobe, 2 many Dj’s, Perry Farrel, Will White, Miss Kitten and the Hacker, Nitin Sahwney, Speedy J, Ladytron, Jamie Lidel, Arc, Ransom, Phil K, Spiderbait and many 2 Many Dj’s. Luke has also played sets and hosted various radio shows currently playing on Melbourne’s Kiss FM breakfast show Friday mornings.
